FAQs
Naturopathy is a holistic approach to healthcare that focuses on supporting your body's natural ability to heal. I use evidence-based natural therapies including herbal medicine, nutritional supplements, dietary guidance, lifestyle modifications, and flower essences to address the root cause of health concerns - not just mask symptoms.

What is naturopathy?
Do I need a referral from my GP to see you?
2
No, you don't need a referral to book a naturopathy consultation. However, I'm happy to work alongside your GP or other healthcare providers to ensure you receive comprehensive, collaborative care for your wellbeing.
What qualifications do you have?
3
I'm a degree-qualified naturopath (Bachelor of Health Science) and registered with the NHAA (Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia). I follow the NHAA Code of Ethics and am committed to evidence-based, professional care.
Do you offer Telehealth/online consultations?
4
Absolutely! I offer online consultations for clients anywhere in Australia. This means you can access naturopathic support from the comfort of your home, whether you're in Melbourne or anywhere across the country. Please email me at diane@inthymenaturopathy.com.au if you located outside Australia and would like to organise an appointment.
Where are you located for in-person consultations?
5
I practice at House of Health on Mondays, located at 18 Young Street, Moonee Ponds, VIC 3039. I see clients from Moonee Ponds, Essendon, Ascot Vale, Flemington, Footscray, West Footscray, Maidstone, Seddon, Yarraville, and surrounding suburbs of Melbourne.
Can I claim naturopathy through private health insurance?

At this stage no, however the Australian Federal Government have approved changes to this in 2026. I will post any updates as information becomes available
Is naturopathy covered by Medicare?
7
Unfortunately, naturopathy consultations are not covered by Medicare.
Do supplement/ herbal liquids costs come on top of consultation fees?
8
Yes, consultation fees cover my time and expertise. Any herbal or nutritional supplements I recommend are an additional cost. I always discuss supplement costs with you before prescribing, and work within your budget to find the most effective and affordable solutions for your needs.

Together, we'll create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
3
Please bring:
Any recent pathology results or medical reports
A list of current medications and supplements
Any relevant health records
Questions or concerns you'd like to discuss
A notepad if you like to take notes
For online consultations, have these ready to share via email, ideally at least 48 hours before your appointment.
Every person’s journey is unique! Some clients notice improvements within 2-4 weeks, while hormonal changes and deeper healing can take 8-12 weeks or longer. Perimenopause and hormonal balance require time and patience - I'll support you every step of the way with realistic expectations and ongoing adjustments to your treatment plan.
